SCHOOL DISTRICT OF PHILADELPHIA INCLEMENT WEATHER CANCELATIONS

February 9, 2010. The general public and media are urged to monitor the District website at www.philasd.org for any updates. Updated information will also be posted on the District's School Closing Hotline at 215-400-INFO (4636). GWHS Fashion Show has been rescheduled for Friday. For college, scholarship, employment or special programs, see your counselor and the Daily Bulletin. Congratulations to the GWHS National Academic League for their win over Northeast High. Health Kits for Haiti All items must be NEW items. As emergency kits are carefully planned and strict rules often governproduct entry into international countries, it is important that kits contain only the requested items nothing more. Give all health kit donations to Mrs. James by 2/11. Thank you for donation. It helps sustain lives! On Wednesday, 1/27/10, all students, grades 9 - 11, will take the English part of the Acuity test. On Thursday, 1/28/10, students will take the Mathematics part of the Acuity test. The Acuity tests are very important for our students because they give us an idea of how students will do on the PSSA, which is coming in April. All schools are evaluated on PSSA results, so it's very important for our students to do well on this test. All students must be in school by 7:35 on Wednesday and Thursady, because testing will begin first period. Students must bring pencils and should have their own calculators. We look forward to a successful testing cycle and we thank you for your cooperation.
